What is IBPS & How can I get an IBPS PO?
Intro to IBPS
Today, the banking system is becoming the necessity of every Indian citizen. For effective, accurate& continuous working, banks need superior quality employees. Can you guess, how a bank recruits its employees? The answer to this question is IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection). So, IBPS is an organisation which has agreement and authorisation from nationalized banks, public corporate sector & insurance firms for hiring new and qualified staff.
IBPS is an independent agency in India which conducts various exams for the recruitment of employees. It conducts many examinations for different posts of banks like PO (Probationary Officer), MT (Management Trainee), RRB Officers etc.
How to get an IBPS PO?
IBPS PO is a very reputed, lucrative and respected post of banks among the aspirants as it offers attractive salary as well as good working environment. Almost every student wants to get selected for the post of IBPS PO post but it is only possible when they are eligible for it. So, it is better to know eligibility criteria of it, before applying: -
Nationality
Aspirants must be:
- A citizen of India or
- A subject of Nepal or
- A subject of Bhutan or
- A Tibetan refugee who came to India, before 1st Jan 1962 for permanent settlement.
The candidates who belong to b, c, & d category must have a certificate of eligibility which has been issued by the Government of India.
Age Limit
The minimum age of a candidate who willing to give IBPS PO Examination is 20 years and maximum age is 30 years. It means those candidates who born on or after 2nd August 1988 but not later than 01st August 1998 are eligible for IBPS PO examination. IBPS PO age limit is considered as an important criterion for the selection of eligible candidates.
Age Relaxation
Age relaxation schemes given to special categories’ candidates are as follow:
- SC/ST : 5 years
- OBC : 3 years
- PH : 10 years
- PH + OBC : 13 years
- PH + SC/ST : 15 years
- Persons affected at 1984 Riots : 5 years
Educational Qualification
- A candidate with Graduation Degree in any stream from a recognized University of Govt. of India is eligible for IBPS PO post.
- In case a candidate is awarded with CGPA/OGPA, they must convert it into a percentage and mention it in the application form.
